The air is full of energy and the forces of nature are at man’s disposal. The
sailplane pilot has learned not to fear them but to listen and respect them.
The gliders are the essence of the expression of the aerodynamics knowledge and
we suggest you to come watch and try these wonderful machines yourselves. You
will be able to fulfil the great dream of flying in silence, doing what the
glider birds do following their instinct, just by reasoning and using the right
technique.
If you would like to experience a
two-seater gliding flight, with the help of one of our skilled pilots, you will
feel a rare emotion and you won’t most certainly do otherwise joining in with
those who never get tired to live again the emotion they feel every time they
take off.
The flight takes place in the marvellous
setting of the Prealps and the Carnic Alps and during the best days on the
Dolomites.
Depending on how the day is, the way of
flying changes: you could go from a flight at a high altitude, up to 2000 or 3000 meters, soaring up to the clouds, to a low flight on the heights of the Prealps, coming close to
the woods and the ridges.
It’s not hard to see other gliders or
pleasant flying mates such as griffins, hawks and buzzards flying all around
you.
The A.V.R.O. gives the opportunity of
trying a two-seater gliding flights for free, expect for the cost of the
drawing.
The glider pilot’s license can be obtained
from the age of 16 at every certified school.
The fulfilment of the course entails 13
hours of flight with a two-seater school glider, 7 of which with the instructor
in dual control and 6 as a soloist pilot.
At the end of the course, when the
necessary minimum has been done, the student pilot has to pass the theoretical
exam and the flight practical exam.
